MINNESOTA COMPANION BIRD ASSOCIATION

BY LAWS

 

 Article I:  MEMBERSHIP

Section 1.

       Membership categories and voting rights shall be as follows:

       Commercial Gold Membership (two votes)

       Commercial Silver Membership (one vote)

       Commercial Bronze Membership (one vote)

       *Family Membership (two votes)

       Individual Membership (one vote)

       Individual Junior Membership (under 16) (no vote)

       *Senior Family Membership (65+) (two votes)

       Individual Senior Membership (65+) (one vote)

*Family membership denotes household of no more than two adults plus minor children living at same address

       Section 2.

Each new member shall be provided with a current Membership Roster and a copy of the Constitution and By-Laws, upon request.

Section 3.

Upon recommendation of the Board of Directors, and with just cause, the President may elect to terminate any membership.

Section 4.

Payment of dues conveys the rights of membership for the twelve (12) months following receipt of such dues. Dues are not refundable.

 

 Article II:  MEETINGS 

Section 1.

Robert’s rules of Order shall be the parliamentary guide of the Minnesota Companion Bird Association (hereafter known as the Association), subject to the Constitution and By-Laws.

Section 2.

Ten percent (10%) of the voting membership shall constitute a quorum for the purpose of voting at general meetings. A quorum must be present at any general meeting during which official action is taken.

Section 3.

Special meetings may be called by the President after notifying the membership approximately ten (10) days in advance of such meetings.

Section 4.

Notification of general meetings shall be posted in the newsletter.
