MINNESOTA COMPANION BIRD ASSOCIATION

CONSTITUTION

 

 Article I:  NAME

The organization shall be known as the Minnesota Companion Bird Association.

 

 Article II:  PRINCIPAL PLACE OF BUSINESS

The principal place of business of this Association shall be located in the State of Minnesota. There shall be no provision for any chapters.

 

 Article III:  PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVE

Section 1.

To collect, generate, and disseminate information concerning the care and propagation of birds in captivity and, more specifically, those birds kept as avicultural subjects or as companion birds.

Section 2.

To promote, protect, foster, and advance the rights and interests of those engaged in the keeping and rearing of birds in captivity and, more specifically, those birds kept as avicultural subjects or as companion birds.

Section 3.

To advocate and encourage public appreciation and understanding of the role of aviculture in wildlife conservation.

 

 Article IV:  MEMBERSHIP

Section 1.

The qualifications of the members, the different classes of membership, if any, the property, voting and other rights and privileges of each class of membership, and the liability of each or all classes for dues or assessments, and the method of collecting thereof shall be set forth in the By-Laws.

Section 2.

Membership may not be assigned or transferred by any member or by act of law. Said membership may be suspended or taken away from a member for such cause and by such procedure as the By-Laws provide.

 
Article V:  OFFICERS

Section 1.

The Board of Directors shall consist of the officers as specified in Section 2 of this Article and such other members as provided for in the By-Laws.
