Newsletter

The MCBA publishes a newsletter that is emailed to members before each monthly meeting. It contains articles about birds and their care, announcements of upcoming speakers and events, advertisements, photos, new member introductions, and more.

Submissions

The MCBA always needs new, unique material for our newsletter. Please consider submitting your pet bird-related letters, articles, stories, artwork, or photos to the Editor for possible publication: MCBA Newsletter PO BOX 28175, Oakdale, MN 55128.

Members may also email newsletter submissions and attached JPEG files to: Carol Wagner at inforeq@mnbird.org. For simplicity's sake, please send all text within the body of your email, and only attach files when submitting JPEG images. The Editor reserves the right to edit and/or reject all editorial, photographic, and advertising materials submitted for publication.

Member Advertising

Individual, Family, Senior, and Junior members are entitled to place one free box ad (6 lines, 30 characters per line) every month. Commercial members are entitled to one free business card ad each month. In addition, Commercial membership options offer the following yearly advertising benefits:

• Commercial Bronze: One 1/2-page ad (or equivalent in 1/4-page ads)
• Commercial Silver: Two half-page ads (or equivalent in 1/4-page ads)

Additional and Non-Member Advertising

Anyone may purchase advertising space according to the following rates:

• Box Ad: 6 lines, 30 characters per line, $5.00 members/$8.00 non-members size of 1 1/4" x 2 1/3"
• Quarter Page Horizontal: 2 1/2" x 7 1/2", $16.00 members/$19.00 non-members
• Quarter Page Verticall: 3 3/4" x 5", $16.00 members/$19.00 non-members
• Half Page Vertical: 3 3/4" x 7 1/2", $25.00 members/$30.00 non-members
• Half Page Horizontal: 5" x 7 1/2 ", $25.00 members/$30.00 non-members
• Full Page: 7 1/2 " x 10", $50.00 members/$60.00 non-members

All ads must be submitted camera-ready (except box ads submitted text-only) by the third Wednesday of the month previous to publication, either in the drop box at the monthly meeting or by mail: MCBA Advertising, PO BOX 28175, Oakdale, MN 55128.

The MCBA and the Editor assume no responsibility for any advertisers' claims or the quality of their products, birds, or services.

Reprint Policies

Articles appearing in the MCBA Newsletter may be reprinted in whole or in part for non-profit use providing proper credit is given to the author and the MCBA, unless all rights are reserved by the author.
