Dr. Julia Ponder, Avian Project on the Galapagos Islands
Wednesday, March 21, 2012 7:00PM

Invasive species, specifically invasive rodents, are the leading cause of extinctions on islands around the world. Permanently eradicating introduced rodents on islands is one the most critical steps that can be taken in bird conservation. Recently, The Raptor Center participated in a rodent eradication project in the Galapagos Islands, leading the effort to protect the endemic Galapagos hawk from secondary poisoning during the project. The story of this fascinating project will be accompanied by images of this captivating location and its amazing animals.
